Matthias Schmitz

After finishing his studies as a graduate engineer for architecture in 1999, Matthias Schmitz (*1973, Grevenbroich) started his professional career as an assistant to the managing director at Aengevelt Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG.

In 2000 he moved to Fitness First, where he was responsible for the company's worldwide expansion – the group of companies became the world market leader in the space of just a few years. From 2004 Matthias Schmitz was an authorised signatory of the German subsidiary, which was called “Fitness Company” until 2008, and from 2006 was also the group real estate chairman for the entire group of companies.

At the start of 2010 Matthias Schmitz came to the ACREST Property Group GmbH, where he has been a managing partner of the company founder, Stefan Zimmermann, ever since. As part of his work at ACREST, Matthias Schmitz is also active as an advisor at various national and international institutes and establishments. These include the EBS European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel, the HAWK University of Applied Science and Art, Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen and the Global Real Estate Institute (GRI).
